Abstract

From the introduction:

"In September 2003, while in Papua New Guinea, I was to pay a courtesy visit to Father Leone Leoni, OFM, in Aitape. The meeting turned out to be very fraternal, very interesting and heavily prolonged in time - it lasted more than 3 hours - it had to be terminated due to the late hour and visible signs of Father Leone's fatigue from the toil of the whole day. The topic that dominated our meeting was not only his many years of missionary experience in Papua New Guinea, but also his difficult memories of China during the communist takeover.

It would be a shame for such valuable information to remain only in the archives, so I asked Fr. Leone to give it to me. He agreed, the next morning, before saying goodbye, he handed me five typed pages...".
